Lesson 1: Quiero

Let’s learn how to say what you want in Spanish using “Quiero + [verb or noun]”

🔑 Key Phrase: Quiero

Quiero means I want.

You can plug in any verb (in infinitive form) or a noun after quiero.

🗣️ Do I Have to Say “Yo”?

In English, we always say “I want…”
In Spanish, you don’t always need the word “yo.”

💡 The verb quiero already means “I want.”

That little -o at the end tells you who’s speaking: “I.”

So instead of saying:

So… when do people say yo?

Only when they want to emphasize it. Like:

¡Yo quiero pizza, no tú!
I want pizza, not you!

✅ Use yo if you want to add a little drama.
😎 Drop it if you're just chillin’.
